Food Is Medicine

Why Is Food Medicine?

Consider the digestive system. Whatever we eat, later travels through more than 20 feet of an efficient intestinal tract that extracts certain molecules from food, then converts them to one common molecule, Acetyl Co-A. This creates building blocks the body needs to grow, build, and repair. We need:Protein, Glucose, and Healthy fats.

The intestines convert food molecules to Acetyl Co-A, because food has familiar combinations of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen. When presented with inorganic and bizarre substances such as “Plastic Food” and synthetic chemicals used in pharmaceutical drugs, the body has no clue as to what to do with them.

Usually they are excreted. This might explain why “Placebos” (or sugar pills) often work as well as or better than pharmaceutical drugs in clinical trials. What happens more often is as the body tries to detoxify offending invader drugs, it creates new “Metabolites”. These have multiple side-effects which in most cases are worse than the effects of the pharmaceutical drugs themselves.

How Our Bodies Process The Food We Eat

Food is right at home in the body. Since human beings came into existence, the body has always been able to process food quite efficiently. The body can easily break down protein into separate amino acids. Amino acids get rearranged into proteins our genes tell us to make. From the beginnings of life as a fetus - building a human being from one cell, until the end of our natural lives - replacing skin and hair, growing fingernails, healing wounds, regenerating new cells throughout all our organs, our bodies need the required nutrients to perform these automated functions.

Carbohydrates and dietary fat get broken down to Acetyl Co-A and rearranged to form molecules our body needs. This is how our bodies have been handling things for all of our existence as a species. Have we mutated into Cyborgs - part machine, part human? Of course we haven’t - at least not yet, anyway. How can our bodies create these basic functional molecules from “Plastic Food” and pharmaceutical chemicals. It can’t!

Imagine pulling your car up to a Lemonade Stand - “Fill ‘er Up!” How far would you get? Of course the results of this experiment would be almost instantaneous. But the function of our bodies has been a slow deterioration over the last 100 years.

Before the turn of the last century (1900) both human beings and animals have almost exclusively relied on plants for their medicine. Do you notice that wild animals will look for and consume plants whenever they don’t feel up to par? Animals in the wild are free of chronic disease, even when living all the way to their maximum lifespan. Wild animals have NOT experienced “Better Living Through Chemicals”!

Our domesticated pets and animals kept in zoos have an entirely different lifestyle. Just like their human keepers they develop cancer, heart disease, arthritis, epilepsy and even diabetes is seen quite regularly. A whole new stream of income for the pharmaceutical industry. We, as pet owners feed our well-loved pets with “Plastic Pet Food” which results in treatment with synthetic pharmaceutical drugs.
